College of Phlebology London Award (2018)
Best Presentation – International Veins Meeting
Our original in-house research paper, “Treating Recurrent Varicose Veins in South Asians,” authored by Dr. Saurabh Joshi, Dr. Ashwini Joshi, and Dr. Rohit Basapure, was awarded the Best Presentation at the College of Phlebology’s International Meeting in London.
- The Research: The study identified root causes of recurrence in patients previously treated with older surgical techniques.
- The Impact: This research helped establish new protocols for comprehensive evaluation, aiming to minimize recurrence rates and improve long-term patient outcomes.
Venartis Phlebology Innovation Award (2018)

Dr. Saurabh Joshi was honored with the international Venartis® Innovation Award for developing the “Plug & Foam” Technique.
- The Innovation: A novel approach designed specifically for the treatment of Refractory Tortuous Varicosities—complex, twisted veins that are often beyond the reach of conventional thermal ablation (laser/heat) techniques.
- Clinical Impact: This technique allows for the effective management of difficult anatomical cases, helping offer patients with “untreatable” veins have a viable, minimally invasive option.
Recognition from Medtronic (2019)
Clinical Excellence in VenaSeal™ Therapy
The Vein Center was formally recognized by Medtronic, a global leader in medical technology, for clinical excellence in VenaSeal™ procedures.
- Milestone: The award recognized Dr. Joshi’s successful completion of over 500 VenaSeal procedures shortly after its launch in Asia.
- Current Status: Today, The Vein Center has treated a high volume of patients with VenaSeal therapy in Asia, having successfully treated over 2,500 patients with this non-thermal, non-tumescent technique.
